The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors announced that it will not be moving forward with plans for an independent forensic audit at this time during its town hall held Tuesday evening in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium. “A forensic audit would be cost-prohibitive,” said board chair Ashley Chriscoe in a prepared statement. “The county went out to bid to explore the possibility of a forensic audit and the average price to conduct the audit was in excess of $400,000. “There has been no need demonstrated for a county forensic audit as there has been no specific allegation of the mishandling, misappropriation or misuse of taxpayer funds,” continued Chriscoe.
