Food Lion Feeds provides $3,000 grant to Hands Across Mathews

Hands Across Mathews has received a $3,000 grant from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experience hunger, according to a release from Hands Across Mathews. The Nourishing Our Neighbors grant supports community feeding partners by helping neighbors increase their access to nutritious food, nutrition education and resources to help them get back on their feet. “The board of directors and officers of Hands Across Mathews would like to thank the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for this generous gift,” said HAM president Jan Mohr. “This grant will be used for the Hands Across Mathews food distribution program, which serves those in Mathews County who cannot provide their families with an adequate supply of food.” Established in 1986, Hands Across Mathews is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting county residents facing hardship or requiring temporary assistance.
