Rappahannock Community College has received $2,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation’s Nourishing our Neighbors grant to help stock its campus food pantries for students and staff facing food insecurity. The grant supports partners by helping communities increase their access to nutritious food and providing nutrition education to help eliminate health risks for those experiencing food insecurity, a release said. “We appreciate the generous grant from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help our students and staff who face food insecurity,” said Kelly Clifton, chair of RCC’s Food Insecurity Committee. “When students are hungry or worry about where their next meal will come from, it presents learning challenges.
