Food from the Heart: Annual demonstrations raise $3,000 each for local food pantries

The “party barn” doors at White Hall Plantation in Zanoni, home of Charles and Mari Ann Banks, opened once again in August to host Food From the Heart after a two-year hiatus. This was the thirteenth time Mari Ann was the gracious hostess, adding a touch of elegance to the event.

The waves on the Ware River glistening in the sun gave a warm welcome to US Foods and its chefs. They came to donate time and talent to support and help sustain the Gloucester County’s food pantries.

As usual two sessions were held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Ticket-holders also brought bags of assorted food staples in support.

Chef Damian Toryak and Chef Virgil Sandorra did the demonstrations on how to make each of the four recipes US Foods had supplied and which are shared here with you.
