Port Haywood photographer Billy Garrett was a winner in the 2024 Scenic Virginia Photo Contest. Garrett won first place in the Coastal & Chesapeake Bay category for “Foggy Skiff,” this peaceful water scene in Onemo. More than 400 submissions in this year’s contest, with winners announced last week in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Founded in 1998, Scenic Virginia is the only statewide conservation nonprofit dedicated exclusively to the preservation, protection, and enhancement of the scenic beauty of the Commonwealth, with a particular focus on the preservation of significant views and vistas.
