Floyd Hampton Ridenour Jr. of Gloucester, Va., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Frederick County, Va., to the late Floyd H. and Bessie M. Ridenour Sr. He retired from Wonder Bread and Hostess Cakes in 1996 as a mechanic. He was a very active member of the
Gloucester Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy S. Ridenour. He is survived by his daughters, Roberta Ann Hawk of Newport News, Rosemary Lynn Joyner and her husband Russell of Seaford, and Karen Ann Smith of Gloucester; his sisters, Catherine Hartley of Stephen City, Belle Ritter of Stephen City, Helen Miller and her husband Charles of Warrenton, Hilda Myers of North Carolina, and Beatrice Eiffard of Ocala, Fla.; his grandchildren, Justin Allen Ridenour, Marc Edward Smith Jr., and Emmillie Alicyn Smith; two very special friends, Larry and Paula Burton of Gloucester, and his faithful riding buddy, Tiger.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, from 6-7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home by the Rev. Michael Gray. Burial was in Rosewell Memorial Garden.
