FLOYD GREEN JR.

A funeral for Floyd Green Jr., 71, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, in New Bethlehem Baptist Church, Philadelphia. He died Dec. 13, 2016.

He was the oldest son born to the late Carey and Floyd Green Sr. of Gloucester, Virginia. He was educated in the Gloucester County schools and later served in the United States Air Force, where he completed his high school education. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a sergeant.

In Philadelphia, he was employed by the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for 22 years. He then worked as a tractor-trailer driver, security guard, and school bus driver.

He was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served on the Trustee Board and was a choir member.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; daughter, Marki; 11 siblings, including Linda Washington, Earl Davenport, and Lorenzo Davenport of Gloucester, and two grandchildren.

Burial was in Chelten Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia.
