FLOYD EARL ‘SONNY’ MARSHALL

Floyd Earl “Sonny” Marshall, 87, of Hayes, went home peacefully to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on May 7, 2017.

He was born Oct. 28, 1929 to the late Floyd and Ella Marshall. He spent his life as a Master Carpenter and retired from Cochran Construction Co. as Superintendent. 

He was a skilled perfectionist in building his own home. Sonny was a pleasant man who came to know the Lord as his Savior early in life. He will be missed by all who knew him and will live forever in the hearts of his family. He will be forever loved and his memory cherished for his wonderful sense of humor and wit, common-sense wisdom and devotion to his family. Rest, beloved of the Lord, your work is done; we will see you again over yonder.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Randy Marshall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Marshall; his devoted children, Donna Owen (Robert), Dennis Marshall (Toni) and Karen Williamson (Doug); sisters, Margie Beggs and JoAnn Brengartner; brother, Otis Marshall; grandchildren, Jason Owen, Ryan Marshall, April Torres, Christopher Marshall, Dan Marshall, Joey Marshall and Billy Marshall; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Torres, Logan Torres and Josephine Owen.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Ken Cramer will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1-2 o’clock at the funeral home.
