FLOYD ALBIN SCOTT

In loving memory of our dad, Floyd Albin Scott of Jamaica, who was known by most as Scotty. He went to be with the Lord in the 98th year of his life on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at 8 p.m. He passed peacefully.

He was born in Belle Union, Ind., on Sept. 11, l917.

He joined the Navy during WWII which took him to

Norfolk, Va., where he met and married Kathleen Estelle Garrett, his loving wife for 68 years. She preceded him five years prior.

He is survived by three children: Margaret Grant,

husband Stanley; Jane Cargill, husband Bruce, and Floyd Lee Scott, wife Mary; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Scotty loved playing golf and working in his workshop,

even at the age of 95.

He leaves behind a legacy of long life, kindness,

thinking of others and never giving up.

There was a memorial service Tuesday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at the Urbanna Baptist Church located at 121

Watling Street, Urbanna, Va., in his honor. A time of fellowship and food in the Fellowship Hall followed.

There will be a Celebration of Scotty’s Life held on

Saturday, March 5, at Christ Church, Kingston Episcopal Parish, 320 Williams Wharf Road, Mathews, Va., at 11 a.m. with a reception following at the Kingston Parish House.
