It’s a new year, and Flowers from the Heart has a new look, but the heart’s the same, said new owners Jo Schramm and Sarah Grifana of Mathews.

The mother-daughter duo recently purchased the shop from former owner (and cousin) Theresa Morgan and spent the past couple of weeks painting, rearranging, and bringing their own ideas to the long-established flower shop. They will have a grand opening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, offering door prizes, refreshments, and special prices on some items.

Customers will see a new look, but the warmth and coziness of the small shop remain the same. Chandeliers repainted in cotton candy colors now light the space, with hand-painted furniture providing accents. The flower corner has been decorated in a bright, open French market style, and the overall feel is “a cross between shabby chic and farmhouse,” said Schramm.
