Flounder tournament raises $26,000 for B&G club

Bradley Gray took top honors on July 13, catching a 15.7 lbs. flounder to win the 17th annual Boys and Girls Club of Gloucester Flounder Tournament.

But the big winner was the Gloucester Unit of the Boys and Girls Club which received $26,000 in the benefit tournament, which was held at the Dare Marine and Yacht Sales in Yorktown.

Catching the second-place fish was Mark McIlwean, whose 13.38 lbs. catch earned him $1,500. Third place went to Kyle Flippin, who hooked an 11.68-pound flounder and received $750 in prize money.

Other top-10 winners included:

Brandon Stevens, fourth place, $500, 11.48 lbs.; Brian Hogge, fifth place, $425, 11.18 lbs.; Cliff Rowe, sixth place, $300, 10.88 lbs.; Robert Mycyk, seventh place, $200, 10.5 lbs.; Jeremiah Carr, eighth place, $150, 10.3 lbs.; Richie Lewis, ninth place, free entry for 2020, 9.94 lbs.; Geoff Dressler, 10th place, $300 gas card, 9.7 lbs.
