Flounder tournament raises $24,500 for B&G Club

The 16th annual Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester Flounder Tournament was held on Saturday at Crown Pointe Marina, Hayes. The club received a 60 percent increase in donations, awarding $24,500 to the Gloucester Boys & Girls Club, up from $16,000 in 2017, a release said.

Bradley Gray took home the top prize, $3,000, for his catch of 12.26 pounds of flounder. Brian Hogge’s boat came in second, earning $1,500 for 12.01 lbs. pounds of flounder. Jake Hiles placed third, winning $750 for his 10.8 lbs. catch.

Hiles donated his $750 in winnings back to the Gloucester Boys & Girls Club.

Other winners included: Joseph Berberich (fourth place, $500, 10.62 lbs.), Billy Kellum (fifth place, $425, 10.61 lbs.), Zachery Hoffman (sixth place, $250, 10.01 lbs.), Donald Bowers (seventh place, $175, 9.77 lbs.), Gary Lawson (eight place, free entry next year, 9.52 lbs.), Kyle Flippin (ninth place, tackle box/Calcutta cup, 9.4 lbs.) and David Hildenbrandt (10th place, $300 gas card donate...
