Flounder arrive at Milford Haven, marina reports

Flounder have arrived at Milford Haven, according to Tina Minor, general manager at Morningstar Marina, Gwynn’s Island.

"We had reports of 18-19 inch flounder being caught in the Haven this week," Minor said.

She reported that trout fishing has dropped off slightly. "We haven’t written any citations this week at all on them," Minor said. "We did however get our first cobia of the year brought in on Chris Taylor’s boat; it measured 42 inches in length."
Minor reminded anglers that the 2012 Boys and Girls Club Flounder Tournament will be held on July 14. "We are joining forces with Gloucester to make this a huge tournament with a guaranteed first place prize of $3,000," Minor said.

Morningstar Marina is sponsoring a free event Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for anyone wanting to show their grandchildren how to fish.
