Florence W. Pearce was born 1915 in Wiconisco, Dauphin County, Pa., and died July 6, 2015 in Gloucester County, Va.

She was the daughter of the late Richard G. Watkeys and Amelia Jane Howell Watkeys, and the widow of Glynn J. Pearce, who died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Florence was a graduate of Wiconisco High School and Thompson Business College of York, Pa., and attended classes at George Washington University while working in the Pentagon Building for the War Department during World War II. She moved to Raleigh in 1948, and was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.

Florence is survived by her son, Richard J. Pearce and his wife Cathy B. Pearce; several nieces and nephews and their families, and some special friends, all of whom she loved and cherished.

Private graveside service will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park.
