A funeral service for Florence A. Blacken, 87, of Cardinal, will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 28 in New Creations Ministries, Cobbs Creek. She died Aug. 20, 2015.

She was a member of New Creations Ministries and the Mathews Active Lifestyle Center.

Survivors include her son, Roderick Blacken of Cardinal; daughters, Linda Camp of Hampton, Emma Blacken of Washington, D.C., Muriel Blacken of Mathews; sister, Mary A. Hudgins of Foster; brother, the Rev. Melvin A. Blacken of Beaverlett; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Following a repast at the church, interment will be in the Zion Church Cemetery, Cardinal.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Knight Funeral Home, Mathews.
