Floodplain outreach

Local building officials gathered at Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Gloucester Friday during the store’s Contractor Appreciation Day to conduct an outreach program to the area’s building contractors and residents. Building officials were on hand to answer questions and pass out information on meeting floodplain requirements, building processes to help save money on flood insurance premiums, and more. They also set up a floodwall display to give an idea on where to install these on homes and the different floodwalls available to meet requirements.
