Five local students get sorority scholarships

Five local students have been awarded scholarships by the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Eta Chapter of Gloucester.

Ceandra Forrest of Mathews received $750 to continue her nursing studies at ECPI University in Newport News and Ellis Finney of Gloucester received $500 to further his work at James Madison University where he is a senior majoring in English.

Also, recent Gloucester High School graduates Briana Pollard, Jasmine Bryant and Yasmine Green received awards. Pollard received $500 toward her civil engineering studies at Old Dominion University, Bryant received $500 toward her physical therapy studies at ODU and Green received $250 toward her criminal justice studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.
