Five GHS runners earn medals at invitational

Five Gloucester High School harriers earned medals at the 2015 Great Meadows Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

In the junior varsity freshman/sophomore race, the GHS girls were seventh among 25 teams. They were led by sophomore Megan McGee who finished 14th in a field of 225 runners with a time of 22:25.

McGee was followed by teammates Gibson Hylton, Chasity Lass, Kaylynn Glockner, Ruby Williams, Allison Kladler and Laura Topin in the top seven runners for Gloucester.

The boys’ team finished 11th among 31 teams, paced by freshman Aaron Shipe at eighth overall in a field of 298 with a time of 18:39. Christopher Potter, Luke Waters, Andrew Wible, Colton Spence, Joshua Shackelford and Ethan Parr rounded out the top seven.

In the junior varsity junior/senior race, the boys were fourth among 21 teams and were led by junior transfer Michael Chaffin in fifth place in 18:49 and senior David Sadikov who was 14th in 19:34 in a field of 186. Chase Holland,
