Fitness 4 Women opens at Cobbs Creek

Fitness 4 Women opened recently on Buckley Hall Road at Cobbs Creek, with an open house held Jan. 16-17.

Debbie Rollins of Mathews owns the business with her husband, David, a retired U.S. Navy captain. The new business is located in a building the couple owns that also includes a nail salon, a beauty parlor and an insurance office.

Although targeted at women of Mathews and nearby counties, the new exercise facility allows husbands to accompany their spouses to work out on certain nights. Rollins said women range in age from teenagers to senior citizens.

The center features circuit training, which includes a number of hydraulic pressure weight strengthening machines and cardio stations. Women can get a good workout with a 25-minute session on the circuit and five minutes on a special stretching apparatus located to the rear of the main exercise room, Rollins said, and some women do multiple circuits.
