Fish biting at Beaverdam

The fish are biting in the Beaverdam Park Reservoir, according to Park Ranger Elizabeth Keefer. She said anglers are catching black crappie from the main entrance pier to the park and in the cove beyond the Ranger Station.

Largemouth bass, while and yellow perch are being caught from the main entrance shore and there have also been reports of blue gill and chain pickerel catches. Curly tail jigs are a popular artificial bait right now, according to several anglers.

The park is open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. through April. For more information, call the Ranger Station at 804-693-2107.
