Fish are biting at Beaverdam

The fish are biting at the Beaverdam Reservoir, according to Beaverdam Park Ranger Elizabeth Keefer. She said the park rangers have had several reports of people fishing from the floating pier catching black crappie and largemouth bass.

One angler reported catching a citation size crappie from the pier. Keefer said white curly tail jigs have been working great as bait from the pier as well as minnows.

The park is open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily with limitations due to COVID-19. The park is currently not renting any equipment or selling concessions or bait.

Motorized watercraft daily launch passes are $6 and self-propelled watercraft daily launch passes are $3. Annual passes are also available. The park requests that guests bring exact change or checks for launches using its self-serve system. For more information call the Ranger Station at 804-693-2107.
