A garage on Old Diggs Lane in Port Haywood was destroyed by fire on Sunday.

Todd Wilson, chief of the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department, said that the detached structure, which was a shed being used as a garage, was fully involved when units arrived on the scene shortly after they were dispatched at 8:39 p.m. Sunday.

About $3,000 to $4,000 worth of contents were destroyed in the fire, said Wilson, and he estimated that the structure itself was probably worth an equal amount. ...
