Field named Retired Educator of Year

Kay Field has been named the 2018 Retired Educator of the Year by the Gloucester Retired Educators Association. Field was honored during a luncheon hosted by the GREA on March 28 at the DAV Chapter 58 headquarters.

Honorees are chosen each year based on their dedication to the GREA, dedication to helping young people in the community and participation in community organizations, a release said.  

After receiving training to become a CNA, Field worked in patient care at a nursing home in Saluda. Further education at Pan American Business School led her to become a bookkeeper for Peoples National Bank and for Gloucester County Public Schools. 

After 38 years of service, Field retired and became a member of the GREA, where her talents led her to volunteer as the GREA bookkeeper for another 12 years.
