Field hockey scores four shutouts in five days

 

Gloucester High School varsity field hockey players continued their undefeated march through their 2019 schedule with four shutout wins over five days in recent action. 

The Dukes traveled to Stafford County to take on Brooke Point High School in a Friday night game. The Dukes beat their hosts 6-0 with two goals from freshman Channy Johnson, two from Cara O’Beirne and goals from Hannah Hamay and Tally Vaughan. 

From Stafford, the Dukes traveled to Arlington the next day for a match up with Washington-Liberty (formerly Washington-Lee) High School. The Gloucester players were tested by the Generals but came out on top with a 2-0 win with Seniors Meg Teagle and Kate Neikirk each scoring. 

The Dukes were back on their home field Monday where they posted a 4-0 win over Jamestown. C. Johnson scored first and Teagle added to the score with a penalty stroke to make it 2-0 at the half. The second half saw Gloucester get goals from Teagle and Hamay.
