The College of Agriculture at Virginia State University will hold a field day on Friday, June 16, focused on the small farmer, at the VSU Randolph Farm, Ettrick, starting at 8 a.m. Demonstrations and information sessions will be held on a number of topics, including: —Blueberries and organic tomatoes in high tunnels; —Field ginger and turmeric; —Controlled, soil-less systems such as aquaponics and hydroponics, for cut flowers, leafy greens and fruiting crops; —The VSU-developed Trojan Orange tomato; and, —The VSU beef cattle program.
