Festive wine and hors d’oeuvres warm old store at holidays

A holiday wine tasting was recently held in one of Gloucester County’s popular historic landmarks. Not only is Nuttall’s Store operating almost as it did when it opened in 1875, it still houses Ware Neck Post Office, which dates to 1886.

To ensure the selections of wines could be enjoyed to the fullest, Chef Winslow Goodier, founder of Ware River Culinary Company, and his son Kyle, “who is one of my second year culinary students,” provided the sourced hors d’oeuvres that paired with each.

Chef Winslow comes to Gloucester with many years of experience in the culinary profession. He is a Certified Executive Chef and a member of the American Academy of Chefs. He has served as executive chef in some of Virginia’s most prominent dining facilities.
