Feathered friends

Local photographer Bob Waldrop recently looked to the skies for inspiration and found these beautiful creatures enjoying a sunny day. Clockwise, from top left, Virginia’s state bird, the cardinal; a four-year-old bald eagle overlooking the Piankatank River; an immature bald eagle; a barred owl, and a horned grebe cruising the water, looking for its next meal.
