Farmer’s Daughter opens seasonal market at Gloucester Point

The Farmer’s Daughter recently opened a seasonal market at Tidemill Center, Gloucester Point.

Owner Karen Merrill said she plans to operate inside and outside during October, November and December in a building that formerly housed a feed and supply store.

Merrill’s husband, Jeff, manages the Tidemill branch. Karen is in charge of their main operation at Woods Cross Roads on Route 17.

Jeff Merrill said they are leasing space this fall and will reevaluate the situation early next year to see if they want to continue a seasonal market at the Point. The Merrills said they plan to remain open at both locations through Christmas Eve, with announced plans to continue the Woods Cross Roads location next spring.

Karen said they are selling all types of fall decorative items including large, prize-winning pumpkins and jumbo jack-o’-lanterns. Also, they sell sweet potatoes, mountain apples and will be adding fresh-picked greens soon.
