The Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals approved on Nov. 28 a special exception to establish a farm-to-table winery as an agritourism activity in Dutton.
Planner Tripp Little said Dana J. Marano and Darren P. Vigilant own the property at 10399 Hope Circle in upper Gloucester. Frank Zoll is acting as representative for the property owners. The property lies in the Ware Magisterial District and is zoned Bayside Conservation (C-2).
Zoll Vineyards plans to operate as a farm-to-table winery, growing fruits and vegetables on 11 acres. The farm also will raise bees in hives, as well as sheep and goats.
The various items raised and grown there will be served to winery consumers, possibly not until 2019, a report said. But some seasonal food pairings served with Zoll Cellars wines are planned for 2018. A wood-fired oven will be used on the site, which may offer cooking lessons, pick-your-own produce, and seasonal music events.
Zoll has operated a winery in Massachusetts since 2009.
