The community of Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Mathews bid farewell to its pastor, The Rev. Gerald “Gerry” Kaggwa at a June 25 reception. Father Kaggwa served the community for seven years “and his calm demeanor and joyful spirit will be greatly missed by all,” a release stated. A gift of two sets of vestments was given to him as a parting remembrance. One set was handmade by parishioner Cheryl Henig.
