Fannie Mae executive to be keynote speaker at NAACP banquet

The Mathews Branch NAACP 2014 Freedom Fund Banquet will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Piankatank Ruritan Club building in Hudgins.

Michael Davis will be the keynote speaker. The Mathews High School alumnus now serves as a vice president, technology for Fannie Mae. He has resided in the San Francisco Bay area since 2004 with his wife, Karen, and their children Morgan and Jordan.

The son of the late Paul and Lucy Davis of Hallieford, Davis graduated with honors from MHS in 1979. He also graduated from James Madison University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in management information systems. He completed executive education courses at Harvard, MIT and Stanford.

In his current position, he is responsible for the technical delivery of large and complex strategic initiatives. Before joining Fannie Mae, he spent eight years in Silicon Valley as a senior technology leader at eBay in San Jose, Calif. He was also a vice president of technology at AOL.
