Family Port Fun Day will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Port Fun Park next to Mathews High School. It is free and open to the public. The rain date is Saturday, June 15. The event is being held to celebrate the opening of the new basketball courts, pickleball courts, playground equipment and playground surfacing material, according to a press release. Free pickleball instruction will be available, along with basketball activities, playground games, disc golf baskets, and a scavenger hunt. Pelican Ice food truck will be on-site, as well. “Kids of all ages are invited,” said the release. Family Port Fun Day is coordinated by the Mathews County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
