Family-owned thrift shop opens at Hayes

A new family-owned thrift store is up and running on Route 17 at Hayes with the goal of offering shoppers the best bargains in town. Husband-and-wife team Christopher and Jaclyn LeBlanc, in partnership with Jaclyn’s parents Michelle and Kregg Snyder, opened The Rummage Room on July 28.

The family has experience in the retail and thrift businesses, having operated restaurants and other thrift stores in North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia Beach.

The LeBlancs run much of the day-to-day operations of the business and, along with their daughter Isabella, reside in Gloucester Point.

Jaclyn LeBlanc stated that her and her husband’s passion for thrifting developed into a desire to run their own business.

“We didn’t see anything as affordable as what we were used to in Virginia Beach, so we just wanted to help lower-income families buy nice things at reasonable prices,” she added.
