Friends of Dragon Run announces guided paddle trips on the Dragon, one of the most beautiful rivers/swamps in Virginia. The organization is dedicated to preserving Dragon Run which flows through Virginia’s Middle Peninsula into the Piankatank Rivers. Fall paddling trips are available Oct. 10 through Nov. 2. Registration will be available on FODR’s website Dragonrun.org beginning Sept. 13. Additional information about these paddles is on the website. These events are for persons 18 and older. A $60 donation is requested for each three-hour paddle. Each kayak trip is led by a Nature Guide who describes the Dragon Run and its ecological significance. No prior experience is required. FODR provides all the equipment needed. During this season, the group will be launching from Dragon Flats in Middlesex County.
