Fall Free Concert Series starts Friday

Flat Iron Crossroads in Gloucester begins its Fall Free Concert Series at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a performance by Calden and Company Band.

Vocalist Calden Moye received a Grammy nomination in the R&B category for her song “You Should Have Been in Church instead of Cheating,” said a press release, and performed the song at The Apollo in Harlem, New York.

She lived in Europe for nine years, but her musical inspiration comes from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Betty Wright, and Whitney Houston. She has performed with such artists as Crystal Waters, Roy Ayers and Kurtis Blow.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. with Positive Pizza and the FIX Bar. The Virginia Department of Health will be onsite with vaccines and information. Free tickets may be reserved at flatironcrossroads.com.

The Arcadian Wild returns to the Flat Iron Crossroads’ stage on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., following an opening performance by Richmond singer/songwriter Kyle Davis at 6:30 p.m.
