Fairfield Foundation receives $30,000 grant

The Fairfield Foundation in Gloucester has received a $30,000 grant from the Richard & Caroline T. Gwathmey Memorial Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee. 

Foundation co-director David Brown said in a release that the funds will support the foundation’s popular educational outreach programs, new technologies, and building an archaeological park at Fairfield Plantation located in White Marsh.

“This is a transformative gift in support of our education outreach,” said Brown. “Not only will it help us sustain our programming in public and private schools in Gloucester, Middlesex and Mathews, but it will allow us to expand our reach to Essex, King and Queen and King William students, too.”

Funding from the Gwathmey Memorial Trust comes on the heels of a $100,000 one-to-one challenge grant from the Cabell Foundation to support development of the archaeological park at Fairfield.
