Extension to hold well water clinics in Gloucester, Mathews

Registration is now open for the upcoming Virginia Cooperative Extension well water clinic in Gloucester and Mathews counties.

The clinics are open to all residents to get their well water tested. Samples will be tested for lead, sodium, pH, arsenic, nitrates, harmful bacteria such as E. coli and eight other health concerns. The cost is $55 for testing and participation in the clinic; comparative testing costs in the range of $250-$350, according to a Cooperative Extension release.

Additionally, funds are available to help cover testing costs and necessary repairs. To receive financial assistance, participants must fill out a scholarship form; contact Glenn Sturm at 804-693-2602 or gjsturm@vt.edu for more information.
