Extension employee receives innovation award

Elizabeth Jones-Hayes of Mathews received the Judy Midkiff Memorial Award for 2021 at a virtual presentation of the Virginia Family Nutrition Program, held June 4.

The award recognizes program assistants and SNAP-ED agents who demonstrated innovation in reaching and offering programs to audiences and partners during COVID-19.

Jones-Hayes also received a Family Nutrition Program Service Award for 15 years of working with the Gloucester County Cooperative Extension office.

The daughter of Howard G. Jones Sr. of Hudgins, and mother of Milton Jarvis of Mathews and Latamara Singleton of Hampton, she is a senior program assistant in the Gloucester Extension office, located at 6099 T.C. Walker Road.
