Express Detailing, which had previously operated as a mobile-only service, recently opened a vehicle detailing center on Woodsville Road, Hayes.

Owner Daryl Tyler of Hayes, said he started the business in Newport News in 1997 and relocated the mobile-only service to Gloucester County in 2004.

Now, the new center gives customers a choice of having their vehicles serviced at their location or at the center. The detailing center has an office and two service bays.

"We are not a car wash," Tyler said of his business, but it does wash vehicles with a Teflon product before waxing them. Also, the staff vacuums and special cleans vehicle interiors, dyes vehicle carpet and offers custom restoration work such as oxidation treatments to restore a vehicle’s paint job.
"We use only biodegradable products," Tyler said of their emphasis on protecting the environment. They detail all types of cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, campers and boats.
