Exercise studio opens at White Marsh

Three local women have joined forces to open Hip Fit, an exercise studio at The Shops on Hickory Fork, White Marsh.

 

Partners in the business are Edna Bauer of Ark, Michaela Lee of Gloucester, and Kim Leyba of Mathews. Each brings different fitness specialties to offer clients, with classes for all ages and abilities.

 

Hip Fit held its grand opening Feb. 1. Lee said they plan to start a Hip Fit Club, which will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. The first meeting on Feb. 21 will include a presentation on organic produce, with other resource speakers being lined up for future sessions that will cover nutrition and related topics.

 

Lee, who is originally from Germany, offers belly dance and yoga classes. She is a professional belly dancer, having danced for more than a dozen years and also having been a fitness instructor for about 20 years. She also offers personal coaching.
