THURSDAY

SOCIAL SERVICES: The Gloucester County Social Services Board will meet at 7:30 this morning, Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Department of Social Services conference room, 6641 Short Lane.

SUPERVISORS: The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 o’clock this evening, Thursday, Nov. 20, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

CIVIC LEAGUE: The West Mathews Community League will meet at 6 o’clock tonight, Thursday, Nov. 20, in the league building at Bohannon. Business will include a review of the fall festival and election of officers for 2026. Members will have a pot luck meal.

SUSAN CONSTANT: Eric Speth, director of maritime operations for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation will give a talk on the restoration of the re-created 17th century ship the Susan Constant at 7 o’clock tonight, Thursday, Nov. 20, at Mathews Memorial Library.

FRIDAY

DAR: The Cricket Hill chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 2 p.m. Friday at Kingston Parish, Mathews. If interested in attending contact Lynda Loyd-Lancaster at lancasterl@aol.com or 304-676-3979.

PAINT PARTY: A Pumpkin Patch Paint Party, titled “Gnome, Sweet Gnome,” will be held for ages 16 and older from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Arts on Main in Gloucester. The cost is $55. Visit gloucesterartsonmain.org for more information.

SATURDAY

FARMERS’ MARKET: A Thanksgiving Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the Mathews Court Green on Court Street.

SUPERVISORS: The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a retreat from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Department of Social Services conference room, 6641 Short Lane, Gloucester.

SUNDAY

FREE TREES: Free trees will be given out to Gloucester County residents from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Beaverdam Park shelter at the Fary’s Mill Road entrance, Gloucester. Limit five trees per household while supplies last. Species are sweet bay magnolia, pin oak, red maple, and redbud. Email leslieanne.hammond@yorkriversteward.org with questions.

PARKS & REC: The Gloucester Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Stewart Building conference room, 6382 Main Street, Gloucester.

PET STORY TIME: Pet Story Time will be held from 1-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society shelter. No registration is required. All ages welcome.
