PARKS & REC: The Mathews Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 5 o’clock today, Thursday, May 7, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

PLANNERS: The Gloucester County Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 tonight, Thursday, May 7, in the Thomas Calhoun Walker Education Center auditorium, 6099 T.C. Walker Road, Gloucester.

SATURDAY

OPEN HOUSES: The Fairfield Foundation will have an open house and dig day at Timberneck Farm from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 3601 Timberneck Farm Road, Hayes. At the same time, the foundation will have an open house at Walter Reed’s birthplace at 4021 Hickory Fork Road, Gloucester.

MONDAY

CONCERT: The Mathews High School Orchestra will perform a selection of classical and contemporary music at 6 p.m. Monday at Mathews Memorial Library, 251 Main Street, Mathews.

REPUBLICANS: The Mathews Republican Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

TUESDAY

BROADBAND: The Mathews Broadband Advisory Board will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Mathews Memorial Library, 251 Main Street, Mathews.

LIBRARY BOARD: The Mathews Memorial Library Board of Trustees will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 251 Main Street, Mathews.

FAMILY CIRCLE: The Fairfield Foundation Family Circle, an affiliate of Coming to the Table, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Woodville Rosenwald School, 4310 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester.

SCHOOL BOARD: The Gloucester County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Thomas Calhoun Walker Education Center auditorium, 6099 T.C. Walker Road, Gloucester.

PLANNERS: The Mathews County Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

WEDNESDAY

WETLANDS: The Gloucester Wetlands Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, in the colonial courthouse, 6504 Main Street, Gloucester. It will also meet as the Chesapeake Bay Preservation and Erosion Commission and the Floodplain Management Committee.

NEXT THURSDAY

DAFFODIL CLUB: The Gloucester Daffodil Club will meet at 4 p.m. next Thursday, May 14, at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, Gloucester. A release said membership is open to all interested people. For more information, contact gloucesterdaffodils@gmail.com.

TOURISM COMMITTEE: The Gloucester Tourism Advisory Committee will meet at 4 p.m. next Thursday, May 14, in the Stewart Building conference room, 6382 Main Street, Gloucester.

CONCERT: The Concerts on the Green Summer Series offers a concert featuring Ami Baker at 5:30 p.m. next Thursday, May 14, at 6504 Main Street, Gloucester. It is free and open to the public.
