UTILITIES: The Gloucester Utilities Advisory Committee will meet at 7 o’clock tonight at the Emergency Operations Center, adjacent to the Sheriff’s Office.

MAY FAIRE: May Faire, an annual Mathews festival that this year celebrates Mathews watermen, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at various sites in and around Mathews Court House.

TUESDAY

BROADBAND: Mathews Broadband Advisory Board will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Mathews Memorial Library and virtually via the Zoom platform. For the Zoom link, email glewis@mathewslibrary.org.

JOINT MEETING: The Gloucester Board of Supervisors will hold a joint meeting with the Planning Commission at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the colonial courthouse.

WEDNESDAY

FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT: The Gloucester Floodplain Management Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at the Emergency Operations Center, adjacent to the Sheriff’s Office.

NEXT THURSDAY

SPECIAL ED: The Mathews County Special Education Advisory Committee will meet at 3:45 p.m. next Thursday, May 12, in the Thomas Hunter Middle School library. The meeting is open to the public for comment. The meeting will feature a short presentation on summer safety for special needs children.

DAFFODIL CLUB: The Gloucester Daffodil Club will meet at 4 p.m. next Thursday, May 12, at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, Gloucester. For more information, contact gloucesterdaffodils@gmail.com.

MASTER GARDENERS: Gloucester Master Gardeners will meet at 10 a.m. next Saturday, May 14, at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, Gloucester. There is no cost and no pre-registration. The public is invited to attend.
