DINE TO DONATE: Join the Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation at Howard-Dooley Café from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, March 7, for a fundraiser for the Mathews High School Music Department. A portion of proceeds for the day will benefit the department.

PARKS & REC: The Mathews County Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 4:30 o’clock today, Thursday, March 7, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

CLEAN & GREEN: The Gloucester Clean & Green Advisory Committee will meet at 5 o’clock today, Thursday, March 7, in the Stewart Building program room, 6382 Main Street.

PLANNERS: The Gloucester County Planning Commission will meet at 7 o’clock tonight, Thursday, March 7, in the colonial courthouse.

SATURDAY

OPEN HOUSE: An open house will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast’s Camp Skimino, 448 Fenton Mill Road, Williamsburg.

CONCERT: Duo Chinoiserie will perform free of charge at 5 p.m. Saturday at Abingdon Episcopal Church, 4645 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester. The duo features Chinese guzheng virtuoso Jing Xia and classical guitarist Bin Hu.

NAACP: The Gloucester NAACP will meet via Zoom at 7 p.m. Monday. Charlie W. Hill, president and co-founder of the Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum, will be the guest speaker. A prostate cancer survivor, he is the international chair of the 100 Black Men of America Prostate Cancer Initiative. All are welcome to attend. LIBRARY BOARD: The Gloucester Library Board of Trustees will meet at 3 p.m. Monday in Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.

TUESDAY

BROADBAND: The Mathews County Broadband Advisory Board will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Mathews Memorial Library and online via Zoom. For access information, call 804-725-5747.

SCHOOL BOARD: The Gloucester County School Board will hold a public hearing on the recommended budget at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium.

PLANNERS: The Mathews County Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse.

WEDNESDAY

HERB GROWING: A talk on growing herbs in Gloucester and cooking with herbs will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.

SUPERVISORS: The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will have a budget work session at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, in the colonial courthouse.

GARDEN CLUB: The York River Garden Club will host a talk by Master Gardener Rose Sullivan on pollinator plants at 10 a.m. next Thursday, March 14, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1860 Hayes Road, Gloucester Point. SCHOOL BOARD: The Gloucester County School Board will hold a budget work session at 6 p.m. next Thursday, March 14, the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium.

SUPERVISORS: The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. next Thursday, March 14, in the historic courthouse. The draft budget will be presented.

UTILITIES: The Gloucester County Utilities Advisory Committee will meet a 6 p.m. next Thursday, March 14, in the County Building One press room, 6467 Main Street.

WETLANDS: The Gloucester County Wetlands Board will meet at 7 p.m. next Thursday, March 14, in the colonial courthouse. After adjourning, it will reconvene as the Chesapeake Bay Preservation and Erosion Commission.
