Even in winter

Our local gardeners are finding ways to grow vegetables in the darkest of days; and hardy flowers continue to bloom indoors and, in some cases, outside. Please send your photos to editor@gazettejournal.net.

Cheryl Battle of Bavon does not wait for warm weather to plant a garden. She is growing mixed sprouts, described as “a fun and delicious winter plant activity,” and just pulled up a fresh carrot.
