Evelyn Diggs Kilmon, 89, of Mathews, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. 

She was born to John Monroe and Polly Diggs on April 8, 1927. Evelyn was a longtime employee of Colonial Williamsburg and retired as a supervisor from the College of William and Mary.

She loved bowling and continued bowling until well into her 80s. Evelyn loved watching all college basketball. She preferred the New York Yankees baseball team and loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Jr. 

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; brothers, J. Martin Diggs and Charlie Munn Diggs; sisters, Ruth Trusch and Naomi Moore, and her sons, Edward Ripley and Wayne Ripley.

She is survived by her son, George “Junior” Ripley and his wife Gail; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and nieces, Nancy Revere, Shirley Snow and Carol Ann Hinman.

Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 with a Celebration of Life service at 2 o’clock at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, and followed by a reception at Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo, Va.
