EVA REUBEN LINDSAY SPURRELL

Eva Reuben Lindsay Spurrell passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in Gloucester County, and is now in Heaven with her Heavenly Father.

Eva was born on Oct. 22, 1931 in Severn, Virginia, to Reuben C. Lindsay and Evelyn Shackleford Lindsay.  

She was married to Eric Vincent Spurrell and celebrated 46 years of marriage.  Eva was a very talented woman being a successful interior designer and decorator; accomplished needlework artist; extraordinary cook; and accompanied her husband, Vince, to assist in multiple home designs and construction. She always found time to devote to her first love—Jesus Christ; reading and studying the Bible, and helping and encouraging others. Her door and heart were always open to show care, offer prayer, and help others in a variety of ways.  Eva was an active member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Mathews County for over 27 years providing volunteer support on a regular basis. 

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben C. Lindsay and Evelyn Shackleford Lindsay; beloved husband, Eric Vincent Spurrell, and brother, William T. Lindsay.

Eva loved all her children and is survived by her four daughters, Betti Proctor (Scott), Brenda Boyle (Mike), Edie Nally (Michael), and Joy Fleming; two sons, Andy Spurrell, and Jerry Spurrell (Jill); nine grandchildren, and nine great- grandchildren.

Eva will be missed by her family and friends.

Eva’s memorial service will be held on Monday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m., at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 2243 Buckley Hall Road, Cobbs Creek, Va. 23035. Officiating minister will be Pastor Chris Morgan.
