Essex Museum and Historical Society to hold Fall Oyster Roast and Courtyard Party Nov. 12

Plans are underway for the Essex County Museum and Historical Society’s Fall Oyster Roast and Courtyard Party which will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 in and around the museum at 217 Water Lane, Tappahannock.
In addition to a historic stroll around Prince Street, the organizing committee has planned an autumn celebration in the museum’s new outdoor space with a menu that includes an oyster roast, bratwursts, hot dogs, a bonfire and live music by the Rockfish Band. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $20 per person, $30 per couple or $40 per family online at www.ecmhs.org or at the museum. Funds raised by this event will support museum programs and community outreach.
The event, sponsored by Dominion Energy, will also serve as the grand opening of a new exhibit, “Prince Street Recollections,” that showcases the interesting history of Prince Street. Tickets are limited.
