“Get Out of Gloucester,” an escape room experience, opened earlier this month in Hayes where participants are challenged to solve puzzles, discover clues and crack codes as a team. As a lifelong resident of the Gloucester-Mathews area, owner Owen Wenner knows that a chief complaint of residents, especially the youth, is that there are not enough entertainment opportunities. Wenner opened the business to provide “one extra thing to do on a Saturday night.” Get Out of Gloucester is currently operating Wednesday through Saturday from 1-9 p.m. each day with three different escape room options available. “We have three different escape rooms with three different difficulties,” said Wenner. Game Master, Sinking and Break In, listed in order from least to most difficult, are the current rooms. In Game Master, participants have to escape a madman’s game room.
