Kaitlin Eriksen of Mathews, a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, was named to the 2016 National Club Softball Association first-team All- American as an outfielder.

Eriksen has been a member of Coastal Carolina Club Softball for all four years at the school, and served the last two as its president. The team has only been in existence for five years. The team qualified for the regional tournament this year by winning its conference after being knocked out last year in the last weekend by a points system.

Eriksen, the daughter of Tommy and Lorna Eriksen of Foster, graduated from Coastal Carolina and will be teaching physical education this fall at Johnsonville (South Carolina) Middle School. She was also named the Johnsonville High School junior varsity softball coach. ...
